Brian M. Wargo is a physicist by training, having completed a Masters in Physics at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he was honored with the Outstanding Graduate Student Research Award for the university for his work in x-ray crystallography. He then spent over a decade at the University of Pittsburgh being trained as an educational researcher, teaching classes to graduate students, publishing papers, and completing his Ph.D. in Science Education. Instead of moving to the university, Wargo continued as a high school teacher, feeling that high school is the best place to create change.
For nearly three decades, Dr. Wargo has been helping students understand science by engaging in it. His expertise in bridging open inquiry, the nature of science, and its philosophical underpinnings, culminate in understanding and teaching scientific practice through long-term projects.
